The Key Laboratory is the first key laboratory of humanities and social sciences in Nanjing University jointly established by Nanjing University and Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of Jiangsu Province. The construction of the laboratory is guided by the national 'big data strategy', with the goal of fully supporting the technological innovation of enterprises in Jiangsu Province, aiming at the key technologies and frontiers of the big data applications, and establishing an international-level big data research platform and facing enterprise innovative knowledge service platform.
The key laboratory set up 4 research groups and 1 service platform: (1) Data Engineering Research Group; (2) Data Organization Research Group; (3) Information Analysis Research Group; (4) Key Technology Research Group; (5) Knowledge service platform. The laboratory implements a director responsibility system under collective decision-making, and an academic committee is set up to review the laboratory's overall research direction, fund guidelines and fund topics.
At present, the key laboratory has set the following main research directions: (1) Data integration and planning research under the big data environment; (2) Data knowledge association and organization research; (3) Information analysis theory, method and application; (4) Research on knowledge services and key technologies; (5) Construction of industry knowledge bases and knowledge service platforms.
During the planning and construction period, it is expected to build the key laboratory into an important production, education and research base and talent training base for the application of big data in Jiangsu province, as well as an academic exchange center in the field of big data analysis and knowledge services nationally and internationally.
