Along with the rapid development of information society, information resources have become important strategic resources in human economic and social activities. National Center for Information Resource Management, Nanjing Branch(NACIRMN), approved by National Informatization Promotion Office, was established at Nanjing University in November 2000.

NACIRMN concentrates on the research of the principles and methods of information resource management so as to stimulate the innovation of information management discipline, and to promote the process of informatization and digitalization. It can provide consultation service for national information industry governing ministries.

NACIRMN’s research fields can be listed as follows:

(1) policies ofinformation resource management, in order to provide macro service for national information resource development.

(2) information analysis and consultation,  to provide information service for products developing and marketing of enterprises.

(3) information integration and system development, to provide service for society informatization.

(4) ITeducation and training, to cultivate high level information resource manager for government and corporations’ informatization.
